hot water, with washing up liquid ?
buy some Fuller's Earth from a chemist ( it is a powder) and emerse the stone in it for a few weeks
Question Author
would that be a chemist like lloyds or a chemist like a scientist?
any local chemist shop, even Boots used to sell it
"Fuller's Earth" is also used as cat litter. The type that crumbles into dust if rubbed between your fingers. Probably cheaper than the chemist, as well.
