Artifical Grass

Instead of tarmacing over my lawn at the front I am considering using artifical grass - has anyone any experience?

Of course I would prefer real grass but time and health issues make it impossible

A friend had it put in in her garden. Although you don't have to cut it, it still requires maintenance to keep it weed free.

The house a few doors down to us had this put in the front last year, have to say it does look rather nice. The only draw back I can see, the weeds still popped through!

It's an excellent idea,I was going to do the same for your reasons,only trouble is it is very expensive and I ended up removing grass and putting little stones in it's place,a lot cheaper.Best of luck.

You do realise that you will have to buy an artificial lawnmower?

Remember to sheet under to minimise any weed breakthrough....it is quite expensive..

I noticed a couple of places that I visit had this light brown paving resin instead of slabs etc. It looked nice, thought it was a good solution for a minimal maintanance garden.

I really like the resin that looks like little pebbles but I imagine that is far too expensive

gavmacp could you say more about the paving resin, I've not come across it. As ric.ror asks, is it expensive?

Don't know anything about it but if you google paving resin there are a few companies that do it. I noticed it when I was out. It is the sort of thing I notice having an elderly mother and working with wheelchair users.

It had a nice finish and where I was they had small areas of garden.

I had a quote from Weatherseal with their up to 50%off deal, the quote was brought down to £12.5K lol lol lol, monthly repayments .....more than the house mortgage.
