old(ish) stainless steel sink, nothing wrong with it apart from being covered in paint and other stains - anyone know of a good product to help restore it to its former glory.

use white spirit to get rid of the paint. If it's been there a while you will need to use a flat bladed knife to help lift it off. Then rub in white vinegar over whole surface. Rinse. If you have rust spots rub in lighter fuel. Rinse. Finally 'polish' the whole thing with a scrunched up sheet of newspaper (just black and white - no colour). My reclaimed one looks great!
