I'm after a creosote-type covering, that will last forever ...... well, maybe not quite that long !!

I've just done 2 panels in Creotreat: http://www.cromar.uk.com/timbertreatments/creotreatr-dark-brown.html

.... and I'm about to run out.

Now apart from not being able to remember where I bought this from, I'm wondering if this is up to the job or not ??

Anyone any advice as to any suitable products out there .... I don't want to have to keep re-applying year in, year out ??

Cuprinol fence paints are as good as any, Giz. I think your problem will be that the product you have is petroleum-based. Cuprinol. and most others are water-based now, so unlikely to be compatible. Nothing wrong with the product you have. You might have to try someone like Jewsons for it, or something similar.

Why do I want to paint a fence ????

Why would I NOT want to paint it ??

I'd want to paint it, to make it look better and to preserve the wood :)
///why paint a fence ? ///

It's so much more robust and long-lasting than wallpaper. ;-)
