Height Reduction Covers For Bosch Washing Machines

Has anybody used the Bosch height reduction cover plates WMZ2340 or WMZ20430 for a washing machine, where you remove the original lid and fit one of these? I've rung so many suppliers, retailers, and of course Bosch themselves and no-one can tell me, and retailers don't keep them in stock so you can't just call in and see one. I can't judge how much height I can take off a Bosch washing machine without knowing this info!!

Proof what is it to fit under? could you thin down what ever it is?.
ie cut a square out of the bottom of the bench so it fits over the top of the washer,.
