Could someone please tell me how I would achieve this 'distressed look' on a bedside table?
I have sanded the table, and I have the paint I would like to use. I also intend on waxing the table after it's finished, but how do I get the edges to look like the one's shown in this example? It looks like it's the pine colour coming through, but I'm unsure how I would get it to look like this. Sanding seems a bit harsh.

Many thanks.

think that they have been sanded after being painted ,maybe leave a wavy strip of natural wood so that you can blend or blur the join.
"Rubbing back" is definitely the way Baby. Use very fine "wet 'n dry" sandpaper or fine wire wool.

This came up recently. Maybe it can help.............

Oh, so it is sanded. That surprises me as I would have thought sanding would have left it looking a bit 'fake' as opposed to distressed, but I suppose the wax softens it... maybe... possibly... hopefully!

It's only for my bedroom, so I suppose I could always paint back over it if it looks rubbish and keep trying until I get that 'look'.

I achieved a shabby look on all my furniture by buying it a very long time ago and just waiting.
