I'd like to buy my daughter a reciprocating saw for Christmas. Can anyone recommend a good make and what should I look for or avoid?
Budget up to about £80 but will go more if it is needed.

Thanks...Gx

The professional ones start at around £100 Gness.............

A bit of overkill for DIY though. I have Makita tools mostly, also some of this make. A good budget brand .............

Thank you Mr Builder...will look at those reviews but the Erbauer certainly looks a good buy with the £30 off....

Many thanks... Gx
has to be said -Is her cooking that bad --- lol
Well, I'll say one thing, gness, you certainly know how to treat your daughter to a REAL christmas :)

Oi!! Bit sexist there, Gsr!! We girls can cook and saw you know!... ;-)

Nibble...would you really expect a daughter of mine to want pink and girly things?...Come on!! She's as much a fan of power tools as her Ma! xx
I'm just wondering what you could fasten onto the end of a reciprocating saw;-)

The mind boggles, Rusty....though I have made meringue with an electric drill...x

Now that looks a cracking piece of kit, Rusty.....may add to my Christmas list..... My kids know not to buy me slippers and smellies.....☺
Shop around for it, you should be able to get it cheaper. I scoffed at people using impact drivers, but now i'm converted. This model is not too heavy as well.
I WANT ONE ... I have no idea what I want it for, but it looks The Dogs Bits ...
What is it, does it bite back?

Doesn't it just, Dave.

The saw looks good, Nibble but I will pass on the screwdriver...I have one in every room. I do like screwdrivers though...and..hmmm..don't have a pink one.. so maybe...oh heck...why not!

naughty step now, you're just encouraging gness ☺☺☺
i bought the clarke one from machine mart and it is bazzin
+ you can buy spare blades easy and they are cheaper than the other makes
A point to consider... Note how in Builder's two links the body and handle of the saw are well below the line of the blade teeth, whereas in Nibble's first link, the body and handle are higher. This was a point I considered in buying my saw, since the one in Nibble's example allows cuts to be made with the blade at less of a downward angle to, e.g., a batten nailed to a floor.
