All 6 Smoke Alarms Went Ff Last Night ..what Could It Be

at 1pm last night me wife and child were sleeping, all 6 smoke alarms all over house went off at the same time, woke half the street up , though no one had been cooking or smoking in our house for 8 hours of so and even then we have fan assisted oven.

what could of done this ? ive disable the lot of them now as the noise was terrible

Perhaps you put new batteries in all of them at one time, and they all ran out at the same time? Mine go off when the batteries need changing.

What make are the units...and what type of system do you have?

Why do you need six? Have you got an exceedingly large house?
You do need to put at least one of them back on, especially tonight.

If they are connected to the mains it may have been a spike in the electricity.

We've got four, tilly, four storey house.

They're all wired together beez. When one goes off it triggers all the others.
It's an absolute pain trying to identify the faulty one :o(

It only takes one.

If you have Aico units then the triggering unit will have the RED led flashing rapidly...on the other five it will flash every 30 secs.

i never seen a red light flashing on any of them, i was in too much of a panic to get them all down and get the batteries out.
