Newly plastered walls- about 4 weeks ago & freshly painted ....

Its an older house solid brick walls...

Problem is when trying to hang up photos on wall with nail the plaster is crumbling? Its ok because its a big clock and mirror thats been up so far and its hidden but i want to hang frames etc??

Should i be using screws and a drill instead possibly?
Rather than a nail and hammer?
Thanks
