Babies First Christmas Keepsake.
14 Answers
Hi there.. im in desperate need of a babies first christmas keepsake.. but ive no idea what to get! I dont want some cheap bauble from a card shop or just anything. I love handmade items and I cant get to any christmas markets this year due to work! Used up all holidays spending extra time with my little chap when he was born.
Any ideas??? Not opposed to out of the ordinary!
Thanks guys ♡

But not a typical bauble.. I also have a strict red-green-gold theme. I even wrap my presents old fashioned with brown handmade paper and twine!
Building on Prudie's theme maybe get a bauble and then another each year, with him choosing when he gets older. Ps - you may want to abandon all thoughts of 'strict themes' now that you have a little person around, they don't tend to adhere to themes and will bring home all sorts of hand-made tatt that you will have to display and adore. Our Christmas tree last year looked like the work of Barbie and Willie Wonker on drugs.
Hi if you are looking to do something home made have you thought of making your own Christmas decos out of cornflour dough?
I cant remember the exact recipe but you basically mix cornflour and water it makes a soft dough. Nurseries often use it instead of play dough as it is cheaper and no nasty chemicals :-)
you can use food colouring to dye it and add glitter too. You can shape it easily using your hands or cookie cutters, your little one could even do some himself.
then you leave it to harden, takes about a day depending on how thick the piece is.
If you want to you can then paint using poster paint and/or varnish to keep the colours.
Dont forget to put in a hole somewhere before it hardens so you can thread a bit of string through :-).
Just done a quick search and came up with this:
