Has anyone out there a remedy for streaky windows. Any time I clean them, they never come out streak-free. This wasn't so bad until I moved house 4 weeks ago and have very big windows now. Any help would be appreciated as I'm desperate. Thanks
I use the old method of going over with a slightly soapy cloth then using a blade like the window cleaners use and then go round edges with a micro cloth ,cant beat it.
I use Astonish window cleaner(with vinegar) with a cloth -----then I polish off with newspapers (use plenty) when window isn't 100% dry - I think it has something to do with the ink in print + its not a cloth. Never have streaks.
Print will come off on hands though & rubber gloves.
Our window cleaner just uses distilled water and long brushes. However between visits our patio window gets dirty and I just go out with a window cloth and small bowl of distilled water slosh it down and scrape off with a blade.Job done. No streaks/
I use a bowl of warm water with white vinegar in it. I go over the window with a chamois leather to get all the muck off. Then rinse the leather and wring it virtually dry and go over the windows again. Buff up with screwed up newspaper. Something in the print gives the windows a real shine. The old man has tried all sorts and finally gave up, so the windows are my job again
No detergent, vinegar or "special" window cleaning fluids. Just wipe over with a wet microfibre cloth and then dry with a windows E-cloth. No chemicals, no smears, no elbow-grease. Sheer magic.
I agree with jkelly24 - The Karcher window vac is fab! We have a 12 x 5 foot lounge window that's a nightmare to clean (not helped by one large dog that lays on the window sill) The Karcher cleans it smear free in minutes.
