Name For Porch Thing

Is there a proper name for a porch thing that goes above an exterior door, battened to the outside walls with no support legs?: I don't know how to search for one on builders websites.

Can't believe that canopy is the best answer. That would go over the porch. Just googled awning and there are loads of options!

I associate awning with canvas, or a temporary structure. I think Prudie's thinking of a sort of "legless lid"...LOL. I know what you mean!

Sorry decmangan but I thought I knew what an awning was and they are usually made of fabric. Door canopy gave lots of results of what I'm looking for, wooden roofed overdoor things.
