Putting A Door Back On

an interior door in my house has come off - the screws have come out of the wood.
this is something that has happened slowly over time, due to the bottom of the door needing planing and the shoving of the door every time it was opened and shut has worked it loose - i assume!

the wood is not damaged etc, just the holes are now too large to just screw it back in

what is the best way to make those holes able to take the screws again?

wood glue? wood filler? something else?

Glue some matchsticks in the holes...let them dry and re fit the hinges

Rawplugs glue them in. You can get a box of different sizes at pound land

I was going to say that - Rawlplugs rammed in the holes.

OH! Ps While the door is off plane a bit off the bottom .

I agree withBright Spark - matchsticks or cocktail sticks tapped gently into the hole with some Evo Stik Resin W glue and allowed to harden will do the trick. Used this several times and it works. Good luck

Matchsticks tapped into the holes until no more will go in. An easier fix is to use screws the next size up if they will go through the holes in the hinges and fit the countersink. Larger screws will have a stronger grip too.
