Has anyone got any knitting patterns or know of any UK websites where I can obtain them using oddments of DK wool? I think we need a craft section on AB!

I have loads and loads of knitting patterns and books.I am an avid knitter and collect vintage books and patterns.Ebay is a great source of patterns and also you can pick them up in Charity shops.A good website for patterns is
http://www.cpu-enterprises.com/ ..also
http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/
The second one has loads of things you can knit from small amounts of wool.
It is an American site though so you would have to convert needle sizes.
On Ebay you often see booklets for odd amounts of wool.
Patons Bazaar Book is a good one.Look under Crafts..Knitting.and then click on patterns.Good luck.

Oh shaneystar - you're a knitter too!!  I haven't made anything in ages but I've got loads of patterns - some that were my mums which used 3ply wool - can you imagine how long it would take to knit a jumper? (Well it would take me ages I'm not very fast!)  Unfortunately my local shop closed down (just when I'd got into cross-stitching too) & I was going to ask on here if anyone bought wool on-line?

belletinker I think you might have started another 'cosy corner' on here - we like those don't we shaneystar?

Thank you shaneystar for both for your sites and also robinia  I have bought wool online from ebay I think there perhaps there is a need for a craft section on here do you agree? again many thanks to you both
Hi Robinia..Thank goodness...another knitter!!
Luckily I have got a local woolshop but they are few and far between now. cpu-enterprises or Dianes Knitting yarns are about the only on line shop I have found that do good cheap wool. They are really efficient and I have often ordered from them.I don't knit so much this time of the year but come the dark evenings I like to knit away while watching tele.Last year I knitted several of those scarves in that eskimo wool for my nieces and lots of socks.Plus I knit bedsocks for my elderly neighbour.
I am too fumbly fingered now for fine wool so like doing chunky sweaters or Aran.I've still got all my Mum's old patterns and needles! It's a nice hobby.Very relaxing.
