Natural Spring Emerging From Road Surface
5 Answers
Hi I am responsible for maintaining a private road on an housing estate which is on a hill.
There is ground water emerging in 2 locations next to garden walls which adjoin the tarmac road. What are the best solutions for controlling the water from running onto the surface? we need to find a solution which we can then reinstate the road back with tarmac on top?
Thank you :D

Lilads, I would get under the tarmac and try to divert it to the edge of the road. It can possibly then be led away. Once it's to the side, a land drain would then take it to wherever possible.
As with your septic tank problem, one would have to be there to see the lie of the land. Perhaps it can be drained to the lower side of the road... where it could run happily away.
