to use a mini oven than a normal household one ?
I mean with the electricity, I live alone so sometimes it feels an awful waste to put my oven on for one thing.

Fine for chops , chicken portions or jacket spuds, but don't expect to be able to bake cakes in it. This is because the only heat is radiant heat from the element above the food, baking needs to have even heat all round from the base and sides.
Get one by all means but it is an addition to a 'proper' oven not a substitute.

I don't think that's strictly true of all mini ovens Eddie.
Some do have a grill element but some also work in the traditional way an oven works. For instance, I have an all singing all dancing microwave. I has a grill element so I can grill things but I can also use it as a conventional oven and the grill element doesn't come on.
For £7 I'd give it a go tamaris, under your circumstances, sounds like a bargain.
