sounds like your ignition thinks the ovens not lit
I have zero expertise in this area but, aside from simple possibilities, like a sticking ignition switch or a liquid spill got inside, causing a short-circuit, it is possible that the flame-monitoring component has worn out. This article may help.

One of those "refer to qualified servicing personnel" situations.

Hope this helps.
When you say 'oven' do you mean 'hob'?

I've had a similar problem with a gas hob when water was spilt and shorted out the igniter. The obvious way to cure it is to switch of the electric supply to the igniter and dismantle the hob and controls to see where the water is - clean it out and dry it out.

I've also switched the electric off (to stop the igniter clicking) left it alone for a couple of days and it's dried out naturally and stopped clicking.

If you really do mean 'oven' and it's got a similar ignition system, I imagine the short would be caused by liquid getting into the switch.
