A Word Of Warning

If you are considering Hillary's Thermal Blinds for your conservatory?
FORGET IT! We just put a thousand pounds down the stank!
Today in the conservatory we suffered 50 degrees C.!! And that's not uncommon.
Don't waste your money!

In the 'conservator y' section they do claim to keep the conservatory cool(er) http://www.h illarys.co.u k/conservato ry-blinds/ Ask them to take the blinds away and give you a full refund, Matheous, they are not fit for the purpose you bought them nor as described

A few years ago I posted a tip on Answerbank about just the same thing. Conservatory that was too hot in the summer and freezing in the winter.
While in my local DIY store, I came across rolls of insulating polystyrene. Its supposed to be for walls.
I "papered" the conservatory ceiling with it, using a strong wallpaper paste mix.
I now have a south facing conservatory that is about 25 degrees cooler in the summer, and is also much warmer in the winter!
I also painted it white and friends and family have commented on the fact that it just looks like an ordinary ceiling.
Its a much better product now than it was years ago, and is also fire retardant.
It has now been up 8 years and is still going strong!
Hope that helps!

PeachyB. That sounds like a great idea-and if I was single, I would not hesitate to fire ahead with that, but unfortunately I have a very fussy wife (that's why she picked me!) who would have to see what that looked like before giving her approval. Pity we can't post pics here, unless you could upload one to a web page?
If not, thanks very much for a great idea!
