Mortgage At Mid 40's
12 Answers
Hi...
I am wondering if I could still get a mortgage if I am in my mid 40's?
My current house is paid off and I wanted to move to a better area with better neighbours.
Any thoughts?

My current house worth around £190k and hoping to sell it and borrow another £80k to get a larger home and better people.
If I move I at least I have a chance of meeting better neighbours. My current area is full of snobs and very narrow minded people. The neighbour always wanted to me to move as I don't fit in with them. So let their dreams comes true and I move on.

Age is no barrier to mortgage these days, most lenders will lend beyond retirement age these days. I took my most recent mortgage out when I was in my fifties - as it would go beyond retirement age, they wanted to see details of my proposed pension to make sure that I could still afford to pay it off, if it was still in place after I'd retired.
