I purchased an x-hose some 18 months ago and it has now split halfway along. Before I buy another one, has anyone else had the same problem.

If you do a bit of research on these things, you will see that a lot of people have had problems with them. The main trouble, of course, is that (when damage occurs) it can't be repaired like an ordinary hosepipe. The internal membrane is susceptible to various sorts of damage/deterioration which renders it useless. A nice idea....but basically flawed.

A lightweight hedge trimmer that collects the clippings, drill bits that go through anything from balsa wood to concrete and cordless vacuum cleaners that pick up pet hair.
Not an exhaustive list. :-)
Unfortunately it's never best to buy these new fangled things until someone else has identified the basic flaws in them for you first.
