Washing Machine Fuse Tripping Out, How To Fix It

hi
anyone know what i can do here, washing machine goes on for a few seconds then trips out and light goes out, maybe a new fuse in the junction box ?
or could it be fuse on wall socket ?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.when i put washing machine onto on switch on wall it will light the switch up, then i press on switch on machine then the light will go on, then i will press start and the machine trips out, lights go off and it trips the junction box.
dont really want to buy a new machine, i have now pulled machine away from wall and i will insert a new 13amp fuse into plug plus check wires are fitted snuggly. cannot see any leaks

I guess it's the RCD then. Not the individual circuit breaker (or fuse) for that particular circuit.
This would suggest an earth leakage fault. Something that washing machines are quite well-known for.
If it were an individual circuit breaker, then that would suggest a possible short-circuit fault in the machine. Quite different from an earth fault. Either way, the machine does sound to be the problem.
