Hi all, does anyone know what the holder is called where men can hang either jackets or shirts. I suppose it can also be classed as a piece of furniture. I have seen them in hotels made of wood. I am not referring to the normal hanger that goes in the wardrobe. Thanks everyone.

I know what you mean. They are normally incorporated into a trouser press.
Google Valet Stand if it is what you are after some options will come up.

For some reason I can't paste a link this evening.
It's called a thingy.

Your welcome, minniemoo.
No joke, minniemoo. When I was a kid my mother would send me to the shops to buy a 'thingy'. When I dared ask precisely 'what thingy?', I got a smack, saying,'you know what I mean, don't be clever with me'. It is a wonder that I am still sane, thought others would argue to the contrary.
Blackadder, as an apprentice I was often sent to the stores for a 'Thingy' but the storeman always seem to know what sort of 'Thingy' I'd been sent for !.
A tin of tartan paint? A long stand?
Was it you that sent me, Blackadder ;-)
