II have seen a video on youtube on how to get the barrel out. It can only be done I think on an anti snap barrel. How can I tell if it is anti snap?

Thanks

forgot to mentiion - it does not have a visible kite mark or other form of id.
It may be difficult with a anti snap lock because they are designed...yes you guessed...not to snap.If its a few years old then it wont be anti snap and if the barrel protrudes from the frame give it a sharp tap with a hammer and small cold chisel from the top or bottom. This should snap the barrel at the centre point and allow you to move the mechanism with a screwdriver and open the door. You will find it easier if you take the handle off.If not you will need a locksmith.
I remember my friend losing her key and asking me if I could help her out.
It was a UPVC door (no idea if the lock was anti snap) - I drilled through the key mechanism, just below where you put the key, in order to drill through the pins.
I used a few drill bits up and it took quite a while - but I managed it ..... eventually lol :)
As a rule this is the quick way into most properties, although I never use small drill bits as they usually break when they snag on the soft brass pins.
I always start the hole off with a 4mm drill and then finish it with an 8mm.
