Wallpaper Hanging
6 Answers
We bought some wallpaper for the cloakroom in our house (which because of all the pipe work is probably the most awkward room to do. Only two pieces, but wee bought 'paste the wall' rather than 'paste the paper, then hang'. My question is - can I paste this paper and then hang it? I see no reason why not, but your advice would be appreciated please.

This paper does not need to be left for 5 to 10 minutes as normal ones do. It can go up dry as you paste the wall instead, but if you want to you can still paste the paper which will make it easier to get around things like pipes as the paper will then be more supple. Normal papers stretch when you wet them but these paste the wall ones have a special backing paper which means they do not stretch.
I stopped using a paper hanging brush years ago. I now use a flexible plastic tool. Much easier to keep clean. It also gets the bubbles out easier and presses the paper into door & window frame jambs better. I wouldn't be without mine:-
