I have searched past questions on Answerbank, but I still need help. I see that some people seem to be able to get printer ink out of cloth with soap and water. Tried that, didn't work. Tried stain-remover spray, didn't work.
Any more ideas ?

Well, I don't know about (computer) printer ink, which is what I suppose you mean, but I used to work in the printing industry. We cleaned printing ink from machines by using a solvent called Methylethyl Ketone, which is now banned. But, perhaps you might have some success if you tried some kind of solvent, maybe nail varnish remover or turps?
What surface is ink on?
I used nail polish remover once and it seemed to work ok. Not brilliant but ok. Maybe if I had tried a stronger solution or left it on for longer. I'm hoping there won't be a next time so that I'll never need to find out. Mistakes with printer ink are usually only done the once. We soon learn. It's a bit like lily stamens. Just exactly HOW are you meant to remove those stains ?
For ink or paint stain saturate with Fairy liquid and leave for several hours so that it soaks right through the fabric. Rinse the Fairy off with cold water, rubbing gently to release stain from deep within the fabric and then wash in the usual way.
Hot water and sprays tend to seal in a stain.
Good luck
