Removing Expanding Foam

HELP..my OH has got expanding all over his black fleece jacket..oh yes,I told him to change into old clothes but he informed me he would not get it on him....!!!!

It was not in lumps but smeared on,tried using a pan scrubber to no avail...so washed it in a warm wash...still no result.


Is there some sort of solvent I can use????

You should of let it dry first :s

I'd then of used (as I have before, I love messing with expanding foam :P) Furniture Re-finisher and scrubbed with a scouring pad (green side).

It was dry when I used the pan scrubber,just would not shift,as I said it is smears,not lumps of it...might have had a better chance if it had of been

Look, I'm a lover of fleeces, in fact you won't find anyone who loves a fleece as much as me. This is going to hurt; the fleece is gone, done, died, passed on. Try soaking in ethanol.

Furniture Re-finisher????

New jacket I think, at OH expense of course.

All the removers I've seen use chemicals which would ruin the jacket anyway.

The chemicals in Furniture Re-finisher actually work as I have actually tried and tested it. Not on fleece though :/

I am sick about his fleece as it is/was a very good one,provided by his employer but they don`t do them now...give out more like a rainjacket.
I am also mad at him for not listening to me!!!!

My daughter got a huge lump in her hair, the only way we could get it out was to cut her hair off.

I went into the garage one morning and was greeted with about half a cubic meter of set foam all over the racking.A large can had fallen off the top shelf and split when it hit the floor....not good is it?

I can assure you my fleece gets washed every week. It's 4 years old and the foam I got on it the first day I got it is still well and truly smeared on the elbow.
I'm afraid you are "stuck " with it.

Once it has been smeared you are knackered.
