Dicky thermostat Dicky.
Which one is not heating up properly, Dick? The immersion or the boiler?

If it's the immersion, then it's most likely the tank thermostat. If the boiler isn't heating it properly, then I think BM is right - it's the boiler thermostat that's faulty.

Does it affect all the hot taps?
Also - there may be a thermostat strapped to the side of the immersion tank. That could be faulty
I recon you have a stored system for the upstairs and an on demand (combi) system for the ground floor....a combi system with a y plan diverter. The lads are right...either the cylinder stat is faulty (or needs turning up)..or the immersion is faulty (or needs turning up).

water downstairs is piping hot, upstairs is warm and doesnt get hot even when switch on the wall in kitchen is on for an hour to boost water.
Maybe you need a 2nd pump to circulate upstairs. I have 1pump on my downstairs gas boiler and another pump upstairs to water tank.

surely if i have a big boiler/hotpress upstairs then theres a pump installed to pump water to it, as i say my house is 2 years old and all boilers etc are brand new
