Does anyone know if it's true that there is bubonic plague fungus found in London brickwork dating from Victorian and pre-Victorian times? This sounds totally bonkers to me but a former colleague says he heard it on radio 4 last week.

Bubonic plague didn't come from fungus, it is bacterial.
...... and it comes from a flea that lives on rats and other rodents.
