Inset Shower Shelf

I can recall inset tiled niches existing in many bathrooms in days of yore. However I don't see many in modern showers, and as I'm in the throes of replacing the downstairs shower I'm thinking of adding one - hate those chrome baskets thingies with a passion.
Have any Ab-ers either made their own by excising & tiling, or better stilll does anywhere sell actual preformed ceramic ones?
Lots of US products out there but the postage is sky high.

If your mind is made up to have one, why don't you construct one yourself.
First you will have to search suitable tiles for the walls and see if they come in smaller versions to make what your after, or a complimentary colour.
