Porcelain Floor Tiles

We've just had a new kitchen fitted including some lovely shiny porcelain floor tiles. They look great but what I didn't realize (and no-one pointed out) is what high maintenance they would be. Drip some water and not notice, leaves a mark, walk about and you get smears - it's driving me mad. Go to pick up a crumb and you leave a finger mark. Going back to the tile shop, they recommended using a wax floor wash which I've used once so far and it's made no difference. Is it something that has to build up over several washes? Any tips on keeping the floor looking good without me spending half my life on my knees, would be much appreciated.

no advice but much sympathy. We went for matte finish ones for that very reason.
I can't help either...I don't have them (and wouldn't want them, tbh!). Not sure they would survive Le Creuset saucepans/lids being dropped onto them.
