In a plastic bag sealed with an elastic band.
full of Viakal.
Question Author
What do you put in the plastic bag, ummm?
If you want an instant result ... poke every hole in the shower head with a paper clip and then scrub it with a nailbrush.
The descaler will do a better job if you have time on your hands.

You could also put viakal all on a sponge and squeeze it over the shower head and leave for a while it's quite thick. Then use a stiff brush on it to get rid of the scale.
I've seen Aggie and Kim do it with vinegar but I'd use something like Viakal.

Thank you for the replies. Never heard of vaical, so it's out with the sarsons.:-)
I think it's suppose to be white vinegar.
If you could get the shower head off I would say put it in a bowl of vinegar but as you can't viakal is the best answer, sainsuburys sell it
After a week of soaking the shower head in vinegar, I don't know what will smell worse... you or the shower head ?
Oh, what a palaver, I've yet to use my new shower installed a couple of months ago with the bathroom suite, and now I know I'll just stick to bathing as per usual.
