We're looking to buy a house and have noticed that the black gasket has come away from the corners (inside and out) on all the windows. Is this something to worry about?! I'm worried that rain might come through, and that the windows will let heat outt/draughts in etc...

Basically, if you were in our position - would you think that the windows need replacing or repairing, or is it not a major problem.

Sorry for so many questions in one! Any help will be greatfully received!

It's not a major problem, it can easily be replaced.  Pop along to Wickes or any other DIY store.

Provided the unit itself(the double glazed piece) is intact i.e. with no signs of condensation trapped between the panes then it should be fine.  Even if they were they are fairly cheap to relpace these days.  I had two replaced last year, roughly 4ft x 2ft and they were 20 each.

Hope that helps.
