Air Vents In Outside Door
6 Answers
I just had a new back door fitted, when I came home and found that it had no air vents I felt like phoning the company and complaining, but my oh insists that they don't put air vents in outside doors, but that was what I ordered as the utility room it opens into gets mould and mildew and I felt it needs an air supply, I was not told air vents could not be fitted, the window does not open, have I the right to complain?

Because these doors are self-insulated, they don't get lots of condensation running down them, hence no need for a vent.
What is it about the utility room that's causing mildew? is it unvented? if so, can it be vented for your own comfort, eg with an extractor fan?
I've a feeling current building regs stipulate this, although they are applied retrospectively.
