Hoping someone can help. My dishwasher won't drain properly, it happened once before, about 18 months ago. After a few months, my son tried it running empty. Lo and behold it cleared! It could be that pipe at back is clogged with gunk. Can't get round back as its a tightly integrated one. I wonder if I could pour a solution down, like Mr Muscle drain clearer or something similar?

Is the air vent to the pipe it drains into ok ?
Our drains into the kitchen sink waste pipe and as a result it takes in air from the kitchen sink plug hole. We had the plug in once and thus the dish washer did not drain.
You can buy dishwasher cleaner - you put the bottle in the utensil rack and run a hot wash. I always thought it was a gimmick but a friend of my daughter fixes them for a living and he recommends using it every three months, so now I do. hen people recommend stuff which may do them out of a job it must be a serious consideration.

Thank you both for your kind help. I ran dishwasher on hot cycle with D./W tablet but with no success. So I went to Supermarket and bought Buster kitchen unblocker, which I've read can be used for dishwasher. I will let you know the results. Hope it works, what with Christmas coming up!
