As some of you may know I like to upcycle furniture. At the moment if the pad of the chair, ottoman or whatever is still in good condition then I simply re cover it.
But there is someone selling on eBay who is boasting that their items are better because they have been reupholstered not re covered.
Maybe I am being naive but does she just mean she has put in a new pad? If so what's the point ifthe original pad is ok? Maybe there is more to it?
Well if hers are ottomans then she's just recovering I guess.....unless she puts in new padding every time.....but even so I consider reupholstering a bit more than that.....or maybe I'm splitting
Hi, Millie......I often recover....but if I've redone the webbing, springs and padding then I've reupholstered......not always necessary when you just want a change of fabric.....x

sillie - sorry to digress here but Gness could you help me.
I have noticed the stuffing hanging down on one of my dining chairs - like you I would be fairly handy but I am stuffed this time LOL as to how to get the stuffing back up again. The fabric has become torn etc and stuffing is hanging down. Is there a strong tape I could buy just to temporarily fix it as nobody really sits on that chair. Thanks
Conne......if there is enough at the edges I would cut a piece of strong fabric to the size of the seat and using a curved needle and strong thread cover the whole underneath of the seat.....spraying it....but not the edges....with fabric glue may help too.....
