3.2m x2.36m =7.56msq

If your lino is 3m wide you need a 3.2m length.
If you have to do any more just use 1 inch= 2.54 centimetres. If you have no calculator this chart may help.

It may be worth borrowing/buying a metric tape measure of some sort though so you can take measurements using metric units
also lots of conversion apps for mobile phones
You've written "ten feet times 6 inches times 7 feet times 9 inches" which doesn't seem to make sense.
If you mean 10'6" x 7'9" the answer is 3.2004 x 2.3622 = 7.56 square metres
As a rough guide, to convert feet to metres, divide by three and take a tenth of that answer away to leave the length in metres.

Using the above for a 10' 6" length gives 3.15m.

To convert metres to feet treble the amount and add a tenth of that answer to it.

Using 3.2m and the above method gives an answer of 10.56'.

For yards to metres take off a tenth and for metres to yards, add a tenth.

Obviously in cases where exact measurements are needed this is not close enough but for day to day calculations, it gives an idea of the sizes involved.
Haven't tape measures had both Imperial and metric graduations for many, many years?
