I know it sounds daft/petty, but we live in a terraced house and our neighbours to the left have bought one of those massive round trampolines with the raised mesh sides. They've positioned it right nxt to the fence so that whenever they kids(and the dad) are in it bouncing up and down they are literally looking into our lounge. Yesterday my husband and I were enjoying a glass of wine and watching a film, and the way our sofa is I was facing the garden. I look up to see the dad bouncing up and down waving at me! Then the kids started. I just felt I was being watched the whole time. They've done it again today and they are just looking straight into our house the whole time they're on it. I really don't like it. Am I being silly? I honestly don't mind if you say yes!

Are they the kind of people who would take a hint if you closed your curtains as they start looking in to your house? If the Dad is bouncing, could that give him the message you aren't too happy about it, to rethink it?

Otherwise, nets or a voile panel or light curtains which let the light in and which can be drawn open and closed sounds like a good idea, not that you should have to.

How big is their garden? Is it feasible for them to move it elsewhere where it isn't invading your privacy or likely to annoy other neighbours who might then complain about the same thing?

It'd drive me crazy.
wire it to the mains - and wait for some ABer to say, 'that's shocking.'

Sorry I've been decorating all day. I've had a peek over the fence and just can't understand why they've put it where it is. It could have gone against their back wall where there is no house behind. Don't get it.
Don't worry snow, with our weather they will get little use of it !!!!!!
Peeler, you are wrong about the legalities.

HC I always am lol I never speak from a legal point I always just think morally. but would like to know if that is true that you can put a camera into anyone's house I would be surprised if that is true.
Its great having PeelerPal here....all you have to do is check what he has said about anything and you can be sure that the opposite is correct....if he said the sky was blue I would doubt the evidence of my own eyes :)
....actually its not blue is it :)

You are my hero. I love all this banter
that's a nice white poppy in your avatar, woofgang.....
I think it is a fact smowball, that trampolines can only be situated at the farthest point from the owner's property and the closest possible point to their neighbour's house. Also, it is a requirement that all users must scream as loudly as possible while using it and at the same time peer into the neighbours house.
I know this to be true as it also happened to me. Wait until Bonfire Night and make sure a firework lands on it. Of course you may have to buy a new fence:-)
Ask for a shot on it then comment "I can see my tv etc. from here"

No trampoline for my bed.... Me and the missus had a waterbed until we drifted apart.
DTC, did you call it 'The Atlantic'?
I called it 'The Dead Sea,' Psybbs - how are you? xx
(but very good!)
Peeler, provided you are stood in a public place such as a footpath, in your own property or property belonging to another with their permission, you can use a long lens and photograph everything it picks up, including through their windows.
This is how the paps get away with such intrusive photos of the royals and slebs.
So HC, what you are saying is that the book 1984 can be more true than we think as I believe there is reference to having drones that can look into everyone's houses. that's quite scary!
It is! I should point out that causing harassment, alarm or distress is a criminal offence so I wouldn't try it
