Have thrown out a Electric kettle thinking that it was the kettle at fault not the Circular base? The connector at the base is possible to purchase off Amazon £1.54, easy to fit and saves you throwing the lot out, thought this would save you money, " Some might think otherwise"

Me but I take into account the age of the kettle (or any appliance) and the cost.

Just be careful you buy the right one - they are not all the same. We have 3 kettles and they are all different.
