This was a magazine programme on after the BBC News at 6pm. Cliff Michelmore was the host. It was introduced to fill the slot when BBC no longer closed for an hour around 6pm to 7pm (this was to allow mothers to put the children to bed).
Cliff, who died earlier this year aged 97, was married to Jean Metcalfe (Two-Way Family Favourites). He would sign off with “And the next Tonight is Tomorrow (or Monday) night. Goodnight”. Other regular participants included Alan Whicker and Polly Elwes.
