Oil Filled Radiators Or Ones Run Off An Electric Combi Boiler?
5 Answers
I have recently had installed an electric combi boiler (I have no access to gas or oil). I need to know which to have installed (both for cost of fitting and running but also for heating efficiency) wall mounted oil filled radiators than run independently of the boiler, or radiators that are heated with water from the combi boiler. Hope someone can help.

I've never had central heating. (I wouldn't even want it). That means that I've had a variety of electric heaters over the years and I've come to love the (free-standing) oil-filled radiator which currently provides the only heat in my home. It seems to provide plenty of heat even at the lowest powers settings.

We have one of those monitors fitted that show you how much electric is being used or has been used over the past 24 hours.
On a good day, we use around 15 kilowatts of electric. When we add a small ish (10 heating fins) oil filled radiator to keep the conservatory to around 10 deg C (probably around 3/4 of full power in a 20m2 conservatory, it more then doubles our entire electric bill.....we certainly use 35+ KW.
