i have a huge fatsia in my garden which I would like to propogate.I have tried several times to grow a cutting from it with no success.It is now in bloom.Well bloom is not quite the right word.It has these large cream clusters growing up from the central stem.Can I take seed from these and try that or has anyone a better suggestion.Come in andyjevs your advice would be much appreciated !!

hope yer all okay....my neighbours adopted a bloomin shi$ehawk and she calls it gordon...she left some toast in a bowl and he wouldnt eat it,now she puts butter on it,and he laps it up...ffs...he already gets bacon and eggs...if she doesent come out on time,he pecks her window....:O)the cat done a runner towards it,and he just stared at it..the cat backed off looking a bit embarrased...anyways...I see mr veritas is still about..its what ever gets you through the night..pickle..yo later>>>(:O)

He he no I'm not calling you a pimp, Vinny (although with your band of biddies... you know... people may start to wonder...?) I'm just practising after having read that PIMP is the new LOL. Means Peeing In My Pants so it's a good biddyword too :/ but then again the article was old enough that the hampster ^^ would have had plenty of time to read it before joining his ancestors so the PIMP train may have come and gone without me even noticing it.
Was thinking about your crash course in depression Neti and how odd it may sound for it to have lasted for such a short time but I absolutely believe that is possible. I'm not prone to depression but sometimes if I sleep in the afternoon and wake up just when it's beginning to get dark outside I swear I experience something that must be like a depression - but it lasts less than half an hour. Still it's enough to understand the horror of it. *shudders* I feel blessed that turning the lights and the radio on does the trick. I realise this may sound laughable but I swear that half hour is so horrible that I try never to sleep in the afternoon if I can help it...

More piccies as promised: Full-rigged ship in the middle is af Chapman, she's a real ship but she serves as a youth hostel now. I stayed there once and I loved it. To the left is a boat leaving for the archipelago (I'll be on one of those tomorrow:) and to the right one of the shuttle boats between Old Town and Djurg�rden, the part of town where the amusement park is situated. Well gordon is going� and he's not happy about me documenting it. old town (blue=tarpaulin)

four points of interest in one photo: Brick house to the left is the old customs house that was going to become the new ABBA museum but the renovations proved too far-reaching for it to be ready in time and it will now house a brand new museum of photography and a cruise centre for tourists instead. Tiny green house is an old lift, now a painting studio for a famous troubadour/painter (but he's getting on a bit, I never see him there). The people under the tree are sitting in the garden of the veggie buffet restaurant with the sunroom I'm always on about and the yellowish house is also where I go for tai chi.
Closer look at the studio and the museum to be and some typical veggie humour ha ha� *groan*

sigh... well, we have proper locks on our sash windows now, to satisfy the insurance company. In the process, one window pane broke and a secondary double glazing unit fell apart. The window's replaced, the other will have to wait until it gets cold.
Still, it was worth it. Norwich Union as was raised their contents insurance premium from �500 to �700, which I thought was extortionate, so I tried ringing around and DirectLine quoted just �200, for three times the cover - but there had to be key-operated locks on all the windows. So there we are. Silly thing was, the windows had long been painted shut, and they had to be unpainted to get the locks on.

Good (not) afternoon....well the weather might not be anyone's biggest problem but it is infuriating, grrrrrrrr...What is it with the Met office? How can they be so consistently wrong & get away with it? They can't even tell us what the weather's doing right now for pity's sake, let alone forecast it....Am I angry? Can you tell? :o) Anyway this year's forecast was obviously a plot to get people to book UK holidays.
They were lovely pics Kit, but the gallery made me feel a bit dizzy, I'm not sure I'd like being in there or where those people were sitting. Are you really sailing today? If this doesn't stop soon we'll be sailing to the shops

and it's raining again... and it's cold... I have dealt with this the only way a resepctable person can, by booking another cruise, but it's not till November, so I will have to find somewhere warm to go very soon or get my clippers into the oven.

Well, I think we must have the best of the summer weather here in North Norfolk. We really haven't had great amounts of rain, although we have had some good storms lately (including hail stones today) but they clear up and we have bright sunshine and warmth. In fact, I would say we have a reasonably good summer.

Evening, all. Had a crap night the other night, did go to bed in time but ended up sleeping 1,5 hours... (aches and pains and suchlike) but yesterday was sooooooo lovely! The weather was sensational and I got us the best seats on the boat, on deck in the sunshine. The archipelago boats make stops along the way and my friends embarked fifteen minutes later than I did and I can tell you that defending those seats for a quarter of an hour takes guts! Here's where I got onboard, yes, it's another web cam! The square building across the water is the Royal Palace. Anyhoo, our destination was an island called Grinda. It's a lovely little island, 1-2 hours away from Sthlm depending on the speed of the boat. I'll post some photos but not tonight.

I'm trying to learn how to use it but the batteries keep running out on me before I can memorize what I'm doing, ha ha. They do run out very quickly - is that a sign of ageing in cameras? Using a lot of "fuel", I mean. (The batteries and the battery charger are new and I am using the correct kind.)
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got something to do

Hi all...been horrible headachey weather here for thr last few days, poor sleep at night and sleepy grumpy days (sorry DH!)
Anyway the good new is that thornit has helped my poor dog's ears no end to big thanks to Shaney for the info. The vets stuff didn't work at all and poor dog hated having it put in NOBA t'other dog loved to lick it out again :-(.
He tolerates the powder much better and licking dog doesn't like the smell, ears are almost clear and a nice pale colour again instead of red and sore
