Getting Out Of The Bath!
41 Answers
Both of us are 70,and finding it very difficult getting out of the bath (even when we assist each other)
We live in (Private) rented accommodation,we would prefer a shower(to replace the bath),but cannot afford to have one installed. The landlord will not pay for one.
Any suggestions?

It appears that money is the issue and the landlord doesn't help ... having spent more years than I can remember installing adaptions an aids for the vulnerable and disabled, sadly your story is quite common. My position was funded by Local councils, Social Services, and the Police. I had the luxury of a credit card with a very high limit and when I came across...

A bath board would mean that you could sit over the bath, rather than in it:

Then you simply need a shower fitting which, at it's simplest, can be a push fit one:

but this would be better:

Thanks for the idea, but grab bars would require building works(a no~no for the Landlord) and it's getting out(standing up) from the bath that is the problem.I really need an alternative to the bath,or an easier way of rising up after bathing. We did look at those bath aids(where a seat lowers into the bath) but being on a State Pension they are just out of reach.
I had a similar thing to this fitted for my mother when she was in her seventies, she used it every day for the rest of her life and died in her late eighties. It was brilliant!

This will lower you into the bath and raise you out of it again, and requires absolutely no alterations to the bathroom.
