Newel Post Connecters

does anyone know where I can get the special screws to connect the newel post to the floor and the handrail please. I have found some on ebay but it's going to be £25 for both which seems quite a lot for just a couple of screws. Thanks in advance

thanks chris, that one is a little better and i get a 10% trade discount from there too. I'm just shocked how much they are, i bet they only cost £1 to make.

I wasnt feeling v well and was lumbering down a train carriage and thought " o there is someone who is taking a newel post home and hasnt put it on the rack as it is too long probably

so I put my hand on it ...

and found it was the head of a woman - mahogany red head who loudly complained about being head handled

It was the very seldom time that I thought I should NOT tell the truth ( ! ! ! ) but made up some stupd story about my hand slipping - thinking "god I cant go to court on this one and tell the truth please please god let her accept my apologies ....."

I cant look at a mahogany newel post without reminding myself of the event
