The figures suggest they are moving you onto a standard tariff which is dearer so before you leave you could check them best deal with npower (usually done very quickly online) and then compare with competitors

A few years ago my wife heard of a company called Utility Warehouse, thoroughly researched them, changed us over to them for gas, electric, phone and broadband and became a freelance salesperson for them (no longer though).
Have a look into them. I can thoroughly recommend them, contact is easy to get to a 'voice', they are extremely helpful and very efficient - in our experience anyway.

A friend of mine almost had a breakdown with npower some years ago, they constantly put his DD payments up until he could no longer pay them and then had a year of hassle trying to sort out exactly how much he owed them.
Don't touch npower with a bargepole. Rip off merchants.

I agree, Nailit, that if I go too low it will rocket. However they normally set it too high so your money sits in their account (as Smowball can testify). I have the funds available to pay if the bill rises so I am comfortable setting it lower. Credit to Eon that they let you do this on your own without having to ring up and beg.
Utility Warehouse come highly recommended. I have problems with iSupply right now. I have a £350 credit which has been constant for 6 months. I have been promised a refund and promised a refund and on Friday they said it would definitely be in my bank account by 5.30 (they close at 5pm)and guess what?? I am now writing a complaint to the Ombudsman
