i need to source some kitchen units for an elderly relative. Money is very tight so I need to get the best value I can. They don't need to be flash just functional.
Value isn't always cheapest despite Tesco advertising. Do you have budget figures and unit numbers ? I reckon you should just check out prices at local DIY sheds. I bought mine from a website but I wasn't looking for least expensive.
Depending on how many you need look on eBay and Gumtree, a friend bought some from a house that was being totally refurbished, people with more money than sense. They are excellent quality and condition.
Thank you all for your suggestions. The budget is as little as possible as the person concerned is on pension credit. The existing kitchen is literally falling apart due to age but I'm hoping to salvage some of the carcasses if possible.
You might like to try googling freegle. It's a kind of online exchange, in which people with something to give away (but which still has some use in it) advertise it. If somebody wants it, they have to be able to collect it (usually), but it's all free of charge.
I realise you'll need a particular kitchen unit for the sink/drainer - but for general storage don't discount things like an old sideboard, painted up makes a great free standing piece in a kitchen.
