Sorry, i meant the question to be, How to move the earth easily, any tricks of the trade sort of thing. Its not a big slope, not big enough to get machinery. Please dont tell me its me and a spade !!

Thing is if you want a nice fine soil and you dig it up this Autumn the frosts over winter will do a nice job of breaking the clods of soil up for you in the spring.

You might find a rotavator might help depending on what you want to do
