Bulb For Flame Effect Electric Fire

which uses one 25w G9 halogen bulb which has blown. Will it be ok to replace it with a 28w G9 halogen as this is the only one I can get locally. I know I can get the proper size from Amazon but will the 28w be safe to use meanwhile please?

Should be.

The bulb will run slightly hotter and be a tad brighter, but should be OK.

You might want to check the rating on the fitting. it might give a maximum wattage.

Thank you for your quick reply Kidas, can’t find anything about max.wattage but will be happy if it is a bit brighter the 25w is a rather dull. Cheers rosy

yes the 3 watts extra is negligible

Thank you also erik2, I have put the 28w in and what a difference it makes, quite a lot brighter, and when I removed the back of the fire there was a notice saying max. Wattage 40w but nothing about that in the instruction booklet (but at least I got one, nobody seems to give them these days :( rosy
