Claiming Compensation
7 Answers
Sold my house & have moved in with family whilst waiting for moving into another house in diffirent area of England.
Expecting the chain to move swiftly I placed contents of my home into storage. Now paying for another month (not expected) as I find the solicitors of my new place are incompetent with paperwork filling. Also the last property at the top of chain has a builder in no hurry as he modernises the place ready for my vendor.
Can I make a claim regards the cost of my contents in for yet another month from either the builder of vendor's solicitor.
All this stress is not helping my medical problems ie heart & lung complications as all I want is to get my home together asap.

My experience is that you really have to push solicitors to act on conveyances.

It appears that you say you have a problem with the "solicitors of your new place" and that you think that they may be causing you to incur additional costs. This is something that you ought to address with them - perhaps through your own solicitor? If not already taken place, I suggest you seek to exchange contracts and agree a completion date as soon as possible. Again, your solicitor is the person to talk to about this.
