Can anyone tell me what these 2 devices are and what they do exactly? I think it's something to do with hot water in the house but not sure. Images below.

I am not a plumber but I would say they are thermostatic controls. Depending what pipes they are attached to they could be controlling zones of you heating system so one area shuts off before another, or one could be controlling your hot water boiler and another your heating system.
Sorry, misunderstood and only saw first pic. Thought you had two of those. Vulcan is right.

Thanks. So would the thermostat be controlling the pump. The thermostat is at number 40 but should I change that?
Ones obviously a circulation pump. The others a temperature sensor possibly linked to a zone valve.
