Terracotta to match the floor tiled, but a little darker.

Decent size south facing window Tilly. Doesn't make it quite bright enough to let me get away with painting it black though... Lol.
So you need a cool colour? A hint of blue perhaps?
Hahaha at O-G

Cluckychick, I'd go to your local DIY store and get a few colour cards one being terracotta, put colours that you have in mind to the cards and see what works for you, it is a personal choice and we won't have to live with it, you will, I have mint green wall (small kitchen, like a galley really) and the wall leading to the garden is an olive colour, I wouldn't go with magnolia or oatmeal beige, personally those colours to me seem very institutional or like the colours on walls in rented accommodation, paint it a colour to bring out your personality and what nick nacks if any you have in your kitchen.
British racing green.
If I am trying out testers I paint onto lining paper then hang on the wall with masking tape to see how the colour looks at different times of day
Cream (something like Crown Soft Linen)
good idea toorak
All good kitchens should have a splash of Nigella dusky pink...
Warm,sunny yellow
The muted heritage ranges are popular, how about violet night for example

I go with andres.

Many, many years ago my grandmother had her kitchen walls painted bright yellow.

I could tell from the expression on the painter’s face – that he thought the choice of colour somewhat strange.

After the initial shock of the bright colour, it eventually grew on me – with a south facing window, the kitchen appeared bathed in light even on dull days.
Pale green or cream
Depending on the size of the room, I'd go for sage green, duck egg blue or even a teal blue.
